I think one can get clues to the question from the answer given by Confucius

In the first passage of his Analects, Confucius asks three seemingly unrelated, rhetorical questions. What do all three rhetorical questions have in common? Also, if a gentleman can play music, maybe his friends will travel from distant regions to hear it?
