What can you say to a girl in this situation that will win her back?

One of the problems with trying to win a girl back is that it seems the harder you try, the deeper you dig yourself into a hole. The reason for this is that at this stage of the relationship emotions are still highly charged. You may be digging yourself a hole so deep that there is no way to dig your way out.
