Buy their flipping cartridge or never print another word

In case anybody should be reading this who is having a similar problem, here is how it worked for me. First, I unplugged the computer. Actually pulled the plug out of the socket, and left it for an hour before reconnecting it. I managed to find some scribbled details in a grubby little notebook that is falling to pieces, and duly signed in.
