Stamkos was playing lights out up until he went down

This is a huge loss for the Lightning, but an even bigger one for the NHL and us fans. Head coach Jon Cooper said that Stammer was in a great place right now in his life, including hockey. What the 26 year old has endured already is far and above from what most endure over a lifetime in the league.
