To prepare the stand for the floating jack-o-lantern, paint the plate or craft board and the dowel rod black. Using a hot glue gun, glue the base of the jack-o-lantern to the wooden plate and dowel rod. Position your floating jack-o-lanterns in the yard by shoving the dowels into the ground.
