I want to attest to the reality of this from personal experience

Following those, thinking and feeling have to do with how we prefer to make decisions. For many thinkers, engaging in a friendly debate with someone is actually a way of feeling more connected to them, not less. Back to that stick figure image. At some point, emotion and/or insecurity find their way in.
